Lambretta Scooter Information

Lambrettas are manufactured in Italy and were originally made in a factory in Milan by Innocenti but were also made under licence in France, Brazil, Spain, India , Columbia and Argentina. The Indian company API bought the rights to the Lambretta name and control of the Lambretta Milanese factory in 1972. The Innocenti name and brand is now owned by the Italian car giant FIAT with the Lambretta and Lambro names owned by the Indian company SIL (Scooters India LTD). The Lambretta flirts appeared in post war Italy where its original design was inspired by the Italian scooter designer D'Ascanio and being of a a very similar design to the Vespa Scooter.

Lambrettas as with Vespa are heavily associated with the Swinging Sixties of Britain and the MOD movement.
